Today we present you the profiles of the European Indoor Champions in the 800m. The fastest woman was Shelayna Oskan-Clarke (Great Britain), among men won Álvaro de Arriba (Spain). If you want to meet the athletes, read the text below.
 
Shelayna Oskan-Clarke is 30-year-old athlete, born in London. She won her first significant medal in 2017 at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, she was second in the 800m in Kombank Arena. One year later she competed at World Indoor Championships in Birmingham. The competition on her own soil turned out to be happy and Shelayna enjoyed the bronze medal with the local fans at the National Indoor Arena. She continued her good run in the homeland, when in 2019 she competed at European Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow. She won the final in the 800m with 2:02.58 and she hung the gold medal around her neck.

Oskan-Clarke's indoor personal best in the 800m is 1:59.81, set on 4 March 2018 in Birmingham at World Indoor Championships.

Álvaro de Arriba is 26-year-old athlete, born in Salamanca. His progress in results looks simillar to Shelayna Oskan-Clarke's achievements. Álvaro got first success in 2017 at the European Athletics Indoor Championships, where took bronze medal in the 800m final in Belgrade. He won at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona in 2018 and one year later in 2019 he became the European Indoor Champion in the 800m in Glasgow. He clocked 1:46.83.

De Arriba's indoor personal best in the 800m is 1:45.43, set on 3 February 2018 in Salamanca.
